MBBC Students

The Student Ministry of MBBC is not a separate entity within the church; thus, we desire to be a multicultural, Christ exalting and kingdom advancing ministry. We accomplish these goals by taking teenagers to the truth of God’s Word to teach instructions for living, but we also acknowledge that we cannot produce the same effect in teenagers that their Christian parents can. Therefore, we strive to equip and encourage parents to fulfill their God-given responsibility of training and teaching their children in the ways of the LORD at home (see Deut. 6:4-9). At MBBC we are serious about teaming up with families to produce young men and women who are passionate about being disciples of Jesus Christ.

Of course, we do see the value of providing an atmosphere of Christian community among young people and the need for students to have a place to grow in their relationship with Christ, especially those who don’t have Christian parents to look to for leadership. This is why we provide events on a weekly basis that allow teenagers to experience Christian fellowship among their peers, worship God through song and service, and sit under the teaching of the Scriptures.

Our weekly schedule is described below; in addition, we balance our calendar with outreach events, mission trips, gender specific events, offsite retreats, and special events that are designed for just plain fun.

Overflow:

Every Sunday evening from 6:00 – 7:30 p.m. all students 6th – 12th grade and adult leaders meet upstairs in the student ministry room for a fun and exciting time of games and worship followed by gospel-centered preaching and teaching. This event is designed to be the entry point into the student ministry and thus the obvious choice for our students to begin bringing their friends.

Sunday Bible Fellowship (SBF):

On Sunday mornings during the 11:15 a.m. SBF hour the student ministry provides small group opportunities. These groups are designed to grow fellowship centered around the Word of God. These small groups are both age graded and gender specific. Trained adults, who have a passion for seeing our teenagers grow in their relationship with Christ, lead our SBF groups.

Student Foundations:

On Wednesday evenings from 6:30 – 7:30 p.m. all students 6th – 12th grade meet upstairs in the student ministry room for a more in-depth, focused Bible study. During these times we will walk through whole books of the Bible, longer passages of Scripture, or allow the Scriptures to speak to other various theological topics.
